I’m building an accessible 3D body-tracking system using monocular cameras in my free time.

Thanks to advances in AI landmark detectors, depth estimators, and inference engines, we no longer need expensive equipment (such as depth sensors, AR APIs, or mobile-specific support) to create Kinect\VR like applications or extract animations. All we need is a regular webcam, smartphone, or laptop.

I’m developing a frontend around the Mecanim Animator component, enabling seamless integration with the Unity3D engine. I plan to support inverse kinematics, body physics, world interaction, and gesture controls. Ultimately, by the end of this project, I aim to build my own VR technology, designed with accessible components.
